Background: | The NCI-H520 cell line was derived by A.F. Gazdar and associates in 1982 from a sample of a lung mass taken from a patient with squamous cell carcimoma of the lung. |
Species: | Homo sapiens, human |
Tissue: | lung |
Disease: | squamous cell carcinoma |
Gender: | male |
Morphology: | epithelial |
Growth Mode: | adherent |
Doubling Time: | 61 hrs in medium with serum; 25 to 32 hrs in serum-free medium |
DNA Profile: | Amelogenin: X CSF1PO: 10x D13S317: 10,11 D16S539: 8,13 D5S818: 12,13 D7S820: 8,12 THO1: 10 TPOX: 8 vWA: 18,19 Cobioer’s Cell Line Authentication Service |
Culture Medium: |
RPMI-1640+10%FBS NCI-H520完全培養(yǎng)基,# CBP60139M |
Cryopreservation medium: | 90%FBS+10%DMSO |
Tumor Formation: | Yes, in nude mice inoculated subcutaneously with 10(7) cells (Tumors developed within 21 days at 100% frequency (5/5).) |
Comments: | The cells express greatly reduced levels of p53 mRNA relative to normal lung tissue, but exhibit no gross structural DNA abnormalities. The cells stain positively for keratin and vimentin but are negative for neurofilament triplet protein. The line can be cloned in soft agar (with or without serum).
